Junior UI/UX Designer (Student)

Position Summary

The Junior UI/UX Designer (Student) has experience with UI/UX design for digital products such as websites, apps, and video games. They are involved throughout the design process, from ideation to evaluation, as needed. They are self-motivated with high integrity and value creativity, attention to detail, and quality. They are passionate and strive for excellence in all aspects of their implementation and stakeholder management.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Investigating, developing, and conceptualizing UI/UX designs for digital products.
• Producing friendly and intuitive designs through wireframes, flow diagrams,   storyboards, and prototypes.
• Building and adhering to robust style guidelines defining a product’s visual identity.
• Balancing stakeholders needs, personal design aesthetics, and UI/UX design best   practices.
• Collaborating with a team of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Reporting progress, issues, and achievements to relevant stakeholders.
• Ensuring that all work is conducted in alignment with corporate mission and values.
• Other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

Technical Skills

• Experience with UI/UX design software, such as Sketch, Figma, and InVision.
• Experience with UI/UX design best practices and implementation.
• Experience with Blender is an asset.
• Experience with Agile is an asset.
• Experience with front-end development is an asset.
• Experience with GitHub and Git is an asset.
• Experience with Unreal and Unity Game Engines is an asset.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an education in a relevant discipline.  
• Enthusiasm and knowledge of the industry.
• Portfolio of sample projects.
• Legally permitted to work in Canada.
• A combination of relevant experience and training will always be considered.
